Unbounce vs. Clickfunnels: Which One Makes Better Landing Pages? | WEBITMD

Written by Shelby Catalano | March 31, 2022

Whether you’re low on developer resources or simply don’t have the time to create your own templates, landing page builders have the potential to improve your lead generation campaigns and make miracles happen. Unbounce and Clickfunnels are two of the best products on the market – each coming with it’s own unique features and benefits. But which one is better for you?

I’m here with answers. Some pros and cons, and reasons you may want to choose one over the other. Read on to learn some of the main differences between Unbounce vs. Clickfunnels.

Unbounce vs. Clickfunnels: What They Have in Common

Both Unbounce and Clickfunnels are both leading landing page builders with plenty of features and customizability. Their common features include:

  • Ready-to-use templates
  • Pop-ups
  • Integrations with other software
  • Extra marketing tools
  • Reporting and analytics
  • Customizability
  • Page responsiveness for all devices and screens

Unbounce vs. Clickfunnels: Key Differences

While both landing page builders share some commonalities, there are also some key differences to consider when comparing Unbounce vs. Clickfunnels.

Price

Unbounce is priced in tiers – with the lowest tier for their Smart Builder starting at $90 a month. For Smart Copy, there’s a free option, with the premium one (geared toward growth) being $49 a month.

A nice thing with Unbounce is that you’re guaranteed certain features regardless of your tier.

While Clickfunnels is also priced in tiers, it has higher levels and lacks an intermediate option for what would most likely work for a mid-sized marketing budget. You either pay $97 a month or $297 a month.

Builder Features

For beginners unable to design or code templates, Unbounce is a fantastic choice with drag-and-drop abilities. The dimensions can also be customized, so you don’t have to know how to resize manually. Down the line, however, if you do happen to want to code your pages, Unbounce has that feature, too!

Unbounce also has easy-to-use forms that you can embed on your pages. Even better – they redirect anywhere you want afterward, rather than just keeping them on the page with a thank you message (though you can do that too if you’d like).

Clickfunnels functions as more of a building block tool that overlaps and is color-coded based on stacks based on rows, columns, elements, and sections. The Etison editor also operates in a similar drag-and-drop fashion, which gives you more customizability such as CSS, padding adjustments, and video embedding. It can feel overwhelming for novices who may not have core competencies in other areas.

Capabilities

For higher-level, more seasoned marketers, Clickfunnels has a more robust system and is primarily seen as a sales funnel tool rather than just a landing page builder. You can also host your entire site through Clickfunnels, which isn’t always common with landing page builders and is a differentiator.

Unbounce has SmartTraffic, which can route your visitors to your highest converting landing pages based on key elements and data. This is an easy feature to turn on with a simple switch – the software handles all of it without you having to tinker or figure out how to filter visitors.

Comparing Unbounce vs. Clickfunnels, both integrate with various third-party software like HubSpot and Google Analytics.

Choose Based on Business Needs

While comparing Unbounce vs. Clickfunnels shows similar features, the former is better suited for marketers getting started with the intent to grow over time, while Clickfunnels is geared as an all-in-one solution for many marketing processes including sales funnels.

Evaluate what your business may need – both now and in the future – and determine which has the pricing and features that speak most to your business’s needs. And remember, use those trials to make your final decision, as your hands-on experience can be different than what you read about.
