WHICH HUBSPOT MARKETING HUB PLAN SHOULD YOU GET?
One of the most common questions we get asked as a HubSpot partner agency is, "Which HubSpot Marketing Hub plan do I really need?"
With four options to choose from (Free, Starter, Professional, and Enterprise), it can be hard to tell which one will give you the most bang for your buck.
Whether you're looking to get started with HubSpot or you're thinking about upgrading to a higher plan, this handy guide will help you understand which one will work best for your team's needs and goals.
#1. MARKETING HUB FREE 📝
We won't spend too long on this one. While Marketing Hub Free has some valuable features, it lacks a lot of the functionality you need for an effective marketing strategy.
Who it's good for:
People who are new to marketing and/or HubSpot that want to get familiar with the tool.
What you'll like:
- It's completely free
- You can create forms, landing pages, emails, and more
- You can have up to one million non-marketing contacts
What you might not like:
- All of your marketing assets (landing pages, emails, etc.) will have the HubSpot logo on them
- No marketing contacts included. You cannot send any marketing emails
#2. MARKETING HUB STARTER
For just $20 per month, you can get a much more robust set of features with Marketing Hub Starter.
Who it's good for:
Small companies with limited marketing budgets. Your lead volume is manageable without automation.
What you'll like:
- HubSpot branding is removed from marketing assets
- 1,000 marketing contacts included. You can purchase additional marketing contacts as needed
What you might not like:
- No workflows or marketing automation (with the exception of form autoresponders)
- Marketing emails are capped at 5X your marketing contact limit per month
#3. MARKETING HUB PROFESSIONAL
This is the plan that we recommend to most of our clients. Marketing Hub Pro offers significantly more functionality than Starter.
Who it's good for:
Marketing teams who are ready to scale their growth with automation, customization, and more. It's also the typical starting point for teams migrating from another platform like Marketo or Pardot.
What you'll like:
- Workflows enable automated email nurtures, lead routing, and more
- Custom dashboards and reports help you focus on the data that really matters
- Other helpful tools include lead scoring, A/B testing, social media management, blogging, and more
What you might not like:
- Big price jump to $890/month
- After you've reached the plan's limit of 2,000 marketing contacts, it costs $250/month for each additional 5,000 marketing contacts
#3. MARKETING HUB ENTERPRISE
Marketing Hub Enterprise is ideal for large marketing teams. It is jam-packed with tools that can support advanced processes at scale.
Who it's good for:
Large, multi-user marketing teams with massive contact lists. Perfect for teams that need deep customization.
What you'll like:
- Custom objects and behavioral events allow you to track data that is unique to your business
- Partitioning allows you to set up team-based access to marketing tools
- Other helpful features such as multi-touch revenue attribution, account-based marketing tools, marketing email frequency cap, and more
- Each additional 10,000 marketing contacts only cost $100/month
What you might not like:
- Big investment at $3,600/month
- Only includes 10,000 base marketing contacts
